The phrase “papa jaani” has become identical with the Molty
Foam, after all of its iconic ads that have become an indispensable of many of
our advertising memories.
These ads are all we spoke about it's endearing and sensitive,
it plays smartly on the emotional insight of its audience, reminding people
about their childhoods and celebrating the father-daughter bond. However, it doesn’t get appreciation well with the young generation
now because of how the mattress is presented in a glorifying manner in dowry for
the daughter.
The most famous part of these Molty Foam ads was the phrase 'Pappa Jaani' and his 'Nanhi Pari'.
In all of its Television
Commercials, the father thinks the best way to take care of her daughter after
she gets married off and sent to her to in-laws with a Master Molty Foam
mattress. And, then, he presumes that the mattress will take care of her princess the way he did. Then Molty Foam took Mahria Khan as their brand ambassador, endorsing their years' old theme. The Starlet comes running into the room in slow-mo calling
out "papa jaani" and then continues "ap Abhi se mujhay miss karnay lagay?"
Then in another ad, they endorsed the same concept, stating "Meri Nanhi Pari, Naye Ghar ko Chali"
Now recently Diamond Foam hit Molty Foam by using the same “papa jaani” the phrase in their campaign
Diamond Supreme Foam who is a rival of Master Molty Foam,
used this ad to convey the message that their mattresses can be ordered online
through their website, have help line to resolve their customers’ issues and
its quality is much better than that of “Pappa Jaani’s” recommended
mattress. In the ad, Mehwish Hayat, the wife, gets mad at the husband, Ali Zafar,
for blindly trusting and ordering a mattress off of the internet instead of
opting for the reliable one. Later after assessing the mattress she comes to
the conclusion that it was, in fact, the right choice.
They, then, came up with a huge campaign everywhere, like Conversation with Papa Janni,
Undermining the effects of trolling, Molty Foam filled a notice to PEMRA to order Diamond Foam ads to be taken down
Pakistan’s law does not allow defamation or taking jabs at another brand and so Master filed this notice against Diamond.
The court also decided in favor of Molty Foam, saying that Diamond is infringing on Motly Foam’s intellectual property thus ordered them to stop using the phrase "Papa Janni" from now onwards.
